Competition Lawyer

About the job

We are seeking an experienced competition lawyer to join our well-established client on a 12-month maternity cover!

Key responsibilities:

• Negotiate clearance for acquisitions, mergers and joint ventures.
• Advise on the structure of commercial or co-operation agreements to ensure they can withstand a competition challenge.
• Deal with investigations into the way a client conducts business.
• Bring or defend claims in the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT).
• Advice on cross-border trade or anti-dumping measures (preventing companies from exporting products at a lower price than normally charged in the home market).
• Regulators investigate companies, bring prosecutions and advise on the application of new laws and regulations.

• Start date: Late August/Early September
• Duration: 12 months
• Rate: Set by candidate
• Working Pattern: Full-time (Part-time 4 days will be considered)
• Location: London
• Equipment: Provided
• Office requirements: Attendance in the London office once a week

Candidate requirements:

• 2+ PQE
• Experience working on contentious competition matters, investigations, CMA market investigations, general advisory work and regulatory experience.
• Need to be able to work independently.
