The role offers the opportunity to act as sole UK counsel, shaping legal strategy and business outcomes
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel, this is an opportunity to operate as the lead legal adviser for the UK business. You will play a pivotal role supporting senior stakeholders across a broad range of real estate and commercial matters, helping to shape strategy while providing pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice.
This role offers significant autonomy, exposure to complex, high-value transactions, and the chance to influence decision-making in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This is a role with office presence 5 days a week.
Key responsibilities
- Leading on a wide range of real estate matters, including leasing, acquisitions and disposals, property management, development and construction
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating key documents such as commercial leases, sale and purchase agreements, construction and consultancy contracts, planning and s106 agreements, guarantees and collateral warranties
- Managing legal aspects of transactions, including due diligence and title investigations
- Advising on disputes, including pre-action strategy, and coordinating with external counsel on adjudication, arbitration and litigation
- Providing guidance on corporate compliance and general commercial matters across the UK operations
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership, balancing legal risk with commercial priorities
About you
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years’ PQE, trained at a leading UK law firm
- Strong experience in real estate law, ideally with exposure to residential and mixed-use development
- Proven ability to handle commercial leases and property transactions independently
- Commercially astute, with a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach
- Comfortable operating with autonomy and taking ownership in a lean team
- Thrives in an evolving environment and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders
