Interim Marketing Lead

High-growth hospitality and leisure business

London

3-month fixed-term contract – to join July 2026

Equivalent to £70,000–£90,000 per annum (pro rata)

We are recruiting an Interim Marketing Lead for a fast-paced, multi-site hospitality business entering an exciting period of transformation.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior marketing leadership role where you will provide stability, direction and hands-on support during a significant evolution of the marketing function.

Working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director, you will help shape the future operating model while ensuring day-to-day marketing activity continues to deliver commercial results.

This is not a consultancy role from the sidelines – you’ll be embedded within the business, balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery and helping leave a lasting legacy through improved processes, documentation and ways of working.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable leading strategic planning sessions, building marketing frameworks and rolling up their sleeves to support campaigns, CRM, digital marketing and venue activity.

About the role

This role combines strategic leadership with operational delivery.

You will help design and implement a more effective marketing function while supporting the development of marketing playbooks, standard operating procedures and governance.

Alongside this, you’ll ensure marketing activity continues uninterrupted across multiple venues, supporting trading performance, campaigns and customer engagement.

You’ll work collaboratively across marketing, operations and commercial teams, helping prioritise activity, improve processes and support the onboarding of a permanent team.

Responsibilities

Marketing Transition & Team Development

  • Support the implementation of the future marketing structure and operating model.
  • Develop marketing playbooks, SOPs and ways of working to support the transition into the new team structure.
  • Capture knowledge, document key processes and improve documentation to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Support the onboarding of new team members and help embed new ways of working across the function.
  • Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and collaboration.
  • Help embed clear ownership, governance and best practice across the marketing function.

Strategic Projects & Planning

  • Provide additional leadership capacity across the marketing function during the transition period, supporting
  • prioritisation, decision-making and delivery of key business initiatives.
  • Support the development and delivery of the FY26/27 campaign plan and marketing calendar.
  • Support the planning and delivery of the Christmas marketing strategy and campaign.
  • Support wider commercial planning and key business initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director to prioritise activity and allocate resource effectively.

Marketing Delivery & Support

  • Provide hands-on leadership and delivery support across the team’s always-on marketing activity, ensuring priorities continue to be delivered throughout the transition.
  • Venue-level marketing to drive local trading performance.
  • CRM management and email automations.
  • Newsletters and tactical email campaigns.
  • Website updates.
  • Social media management with the freelance content creator.
  • Influencer management.
  • Paid media management with agency.
  • Agency and supplier management.
  • Marketing budget management.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Sales and venue teams to ensure marketing activity supports commercial objectives.
  • Manage external agencies and marketing partners, ensuring activity is delivered effectively and provides value for money

What success looks like

By the end of the three-month contract, you will have helped leave the marketing function in a stronger position than you found it and will have:

  • Successfully supported the transition into a new marketing operating model with minimal disruption to business performance.
  • Developed clear marketing playbooks, SOPs and documentation that create consistency and provided a strong foundation for the permanent team.
  • Embedded improved planning, governance and ways of working across the marketing function.
  • Supported the delivery of the FY26/27 marketing plan, ensuring key campaigns are planned and implementation is underway.
  • Helped shape and prepare the Christmas marketing campaign, leaving the business well positioned for one of its most important trading periods.
  • Maintained high-quality day-to-day marketing delivery across CRM, digital channels, venue marketing, paid media and partnerships throughout the transition.
  • Built trusted relationships across the business, leaving behind a well-organised, confident and fully prepared marketing team.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced marketing leader who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys bringing structure to complexity.

You’ll combine commercial thinking with a collaborative leadership style and won’t be afraid to get involved in the detail when required.

You’ll bring

  • Senior marketing leadership experience within hospitality, leisure, retail or consumer-facing brands.
  • Experience leading teams through periods of change or transformation.
  • Strong strategic planning and campaign management capability.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience developing marketing processes, frameworks and documentation.
  • A hands-on approach across digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Personality, energy and a positive, can do attitude

What’s on offer

  • 3-month fixed-term contract
  • Equivalent salary of £70,000–£90,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact during a significant period of business change.
  • London based roles working across all London venues.
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where your expertise will help shape the future of the marketing function.

If you’re an experienced marketing leader who enjoys combining strategy with delivery and can quickly add value in a fast-paced hospitality environment, we’d love to hear from you.
