Senior Quantity Surveyor (MRICS Preferred) | London | Hybrid

Location: London (Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week on-site, including weekly travel to Reigate, Surrey)

I’m currently partnering with a leading global consultancy that specialises in facilities management, workplace strategy, and project consultancy to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for their growing Cost Management team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative consultancy environment where you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, build long-term client relationships, and play a key role in delivering commercial excellence from project inception through to completion.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering commercial and cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders, you’ll provide strategic commercial advice while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cost planning, estimating, and budgeting across all project stages.
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, procurement strategies, tender documentation, and contract administration.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting, cost forecasting, cash flow analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Provide commercial advice to clients, ensuring value for money throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage change control processes and commercial risk.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead client meetings and present cost strategies with confidence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants, and designers.
  • Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors.
  • Administer contracts including NEC, JCT, and FIDIC where applicable.
  • Drive value engineering and sustainable cost management solutions.

What We’re Looking For

✔ Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant within a consultancy environment.

✔ Strong knowledge of:

  • Cost planning
  • Procurement strategies
  • Contract administration
  • Commercial reporting
  • NEC and JCT contracts (FIDIC beneficial)

✔ Experience delivering projects across sectors such as:

  • Commercial
  • Workplace
  • Education
  • Public Sector
  • Retail

✔ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

✔ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • MRICS qualification is preferred (or working towards chartership).
