Senior Legal Counsel – Investments

London (hybrid)

A high-growth, digitally-led UK financial services business is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel (Investments) to join the team during a critical phase of product launch and regulatory engagement.

This is a hands-on, embedded role reporting to the Head of Legal, with ownership of the legal workstream for a new investments proposition as it moves through final regulatory stages to go-live.

The Opportunity

You will take end-to-end responsibility for a well-advanced investments workstream, stepping into a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment where legal is closely aligned with product, compliance and technology.

Key focus areas include:

  • Leading legal input into a new processes, including direct FCA engagement
  • Finalising and negotiating platform, custody, fund manager and tech/vendor agreements
  • Overseeing client-facing documentation (execution-only model, disclosures, ISA/GIA terms)
  • Ensuring alignment across regulatory commitments, contracts and operational frameworks
  • Supporting product governance, financial promotions and go-live readiness
  • Partnering closely with compliance on outsourcing, CASS, Consumer Duty and operational resilience

Alongside the core investments workstream, you will also provide support to a developing wealth / net worth proposition, particularly around partnering models and emerging product features.

What We’re Looking For

  • UK-qualified lawyer with ~5+ PQE
  • Strong background in financial services regulatory and investments law
  • Experience gained in-house or advising banks, platforms, wealth managers or asset managers
  • Demonstrable expertise across:
  • FCA permissions (Part 4A / VoP) and regulatory engagement
  • Investment platforms, custody and execution-only models
  • COBS, SYSC, PROD and CASS frameworks
  • Outsourcing and operational resilience regimes
  • Commercial / technology contracts in regulated environments

You will be:

  • Immediately or shortly available
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving environment
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused and commercially minded
  • Experienced in managing external counsel and cross-functional stakeholders
