About the Role

The Compliance & Business Support Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organisation’s ISO management systems, documentation, and compliance processes. The role ensures that ISO standards are consistently applied, audits are prepared for and passed successfully, and continuous improvement is embedded across the business. In addition, the role provides wider business support to improve operational efficiency and ensure alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities

ISO Management & Compliance

  • Maintain and manage the organisation’s ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 as applicable)
  • Ensure all documentation complies with relevant ISO standards and is kept accurate, current, and controlled
  • Act as the primary point of contact for ISO-related matters across the business
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external ISO audits
  • Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate day-to-day business administration across BlueLight Management and BlueLight Fire Engineering
  • Manage invoicing, purchase orders, and debtor chasing
  • Maintain document control, versioning, and SharePoint structures
  • Prepare and format project reports, letters, and proposal documents

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Contribute to improvements in administrative systems and workflows
  • Support digital enhancements across Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Assist with preparations for future office setup and operational developments

Documentation & Process Management

  • Develop, review, and update policies, procedures, and process documentation
  • Implement document control systems and version management
  • Work with department heads to map, review, and improve business processes
  • Promote standardisation, efficiency, and best practice across operations

What we are looking for

  • Experience working with ISO, ideally, 9001,14001,45001
  • Experience in document management
  • Good communication written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Highly confident, self motivated and proactive individual
