About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded SEO Manager to join a growing retail and eCommerce agency based in London. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and who has a strong understanding of how SEO drives performance for consumer brands.

You’ll lead SEO strategy across a portfolio of retail and eCommerce clients, helping to grow organic visibility, traffic, and revenue. Working closely with content, paid media, digital PR, analytics and client services teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping integrated search strategies that deliver measurable results.

This role would suit someone with agency experience who is confident managing client relationships, leading SEO roadmaps, and balancing technical, on-page and content-led SEO activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver SEO strategies for a portfolio of retail and eCommerce clients
  • Own the day-to-day management of SEO campaigns, ensuring activity is aligned to client goals and commercial KPIs
  • Carry out keyword research, competitor analysis and opportunity mapping to identify areas for growth
  • Lead on-site SEO recommendations including site architecture, internal linking, metadata, content optimisation and category/product page improvements
  • Conduct technical SEO audits and work with developers or client teams to implement recommendations
  • Monitor organic rankings, traffic, conversions and revenue performance, turning data into clear actions and recommendations
  • Create monthly and quarterly performance reports with insight-led commentary and strategic next steps
  • Collaborate with content teams to develop SEO content strategies that support category growth, seasonal campaigns and evergreen performance
  • Support website migrations, launches, and major technical changes from an SEO perspective
  • Keep up to date with Google algorithm updates, SEO trends and developments within retail/eCommerce search
  • Build strong client relationships, confidently presenting strategy, results and recommendations
  • Mentor junior team members where needed and contribute to the ongoing development of the SEO function within the agency

About you

  • Proven experience in an SEO Manager, Senior SEO Executive or Senior SEO Specialist role
  • Strong SEO background within an agency, ideally working with retail or eCommerce clients
  • Good understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content strategy, and site performance
  • Experience working on large eCommerce sites with category and product page optimisation
  • Comfortable analysing performance data and using insights to drive recommendations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience managing stakeholders or clients
  • Commercially aware and able to connect SEO performance to wider business outcomes such as traffic, conversion and revenue
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple client accounts in a fast-paced agency environment

Tools / platforms experience

Experience with some or most of the below would be beneficial:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
  • Google Search Console
  • Screaming Frog
  • SEMrush / Ahrefs / Sistrix
  • Looker Studio
  • Google Tag Manager
  • CMS platforms such as Shopify, Magento or WordPress

What’s on offer

  • Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the London office
  • Opportunity to work with exciting retail and eCommerce brands
  • A collaborative agency environment with strong progression opportunities
  • Exposure to integrated digital campaigns across SEO, content, PR and performance marketing
  • Ongoing training, development and support

Why join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an agency environment where SEO is a core part of growth strategy for ambitious retail and eCommerce brands. You’ll have the chance to shape client strategy, influence performance, and work with a team that values both strong execution and smart thinking.
