Contentious Private Wealth Associate

A leading international law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate or Managing Associate to join its growing Contentious Private Wealth practice in London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees, family offices and private businesses on a broad range of complex and often cross-border disputes.

The team works on a wide variety of private wealth matters, frequently involving international elements, sophisticated asset structures and multi-jurisdictional considerations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers whilst taking on significant responsibility and client exposure from an early stage.

The Role

The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of contentious private wealth matters, including:

  • Trust and estate disputes
  • Succession and inheritance matters
  • Family business disputes
  • Trustee and beneficiary disputes
  • Cross-border private wealth litigation
  • Related commercial and tax-sensitive disputes

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing matters with appropriate supervision
  • Advising clients on complex contentious private wealth issues
  • Drafting legal advice, pleadings and correspondence
  • Conducting legal research and analysis
  • Liaising with clients, counsel and other advisers
  • Assisting with litigation strategy and dispute resolution processes
  • Supervising junior team members where appropriate
  • Contributing to thought leadership and business development initiatives

The Candidate

Applications are welcomed from England & Wales qualified lawyers with experience gained at a respected private client, litigation or disputes practice.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Experience handling complex disputes
  • Commercial awareness and sound judgement
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach
