Role Description
A hybrid role based in London & Suffolk, (with travel as required with flexibility for some home-working).
We are looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO),
supporting a major civil works programme. This role sits at the heart of project delivery, helping ensure effective risk management drives successful outcomes.
You will play a key part in leading risk activities, improving processes, and supporting delivery teams through proactive, insights-led risk management.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a large-scale project environment and be comfortable collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and coordinating risk management activities across the programme
- Providing expert risk advice and services aligned with PMO processes
- Managing and supporting a team of Risk Managers
- Collaborating with internal teams and partners to ensure effective risk practices
- Supporting programme-wide risk activities (e.g. forecasting, reporting, analysis)
- Producing risk reports, dashboards, and insights to inform decision-making
- Driving continuous improvement and innovation in risk management approaches
- Facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders at all levels

Key Skills & Experience: ESSENTIAL
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels
- Very strong mitigation-related skills underpinned by project controls experience
- Experience delivering risk management in complex project environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights
- Experience leading or contributing to Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams effectively
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience across broader project controls (cost, schedule, change)
- Professional membership (e.g. IRM, PMI, APM or similar)
- Experience in infrastructure, construction, or other large-scale programmes
- Relevant risk or project management qualifications
