Senior Compliance Associate – Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven, hands-on Compliance Officer to join a high-calibre, fast-paced multi-strategy hedge fund. Reporting to the Head Compliance in London, this is a broad generalist role suited to a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes genuine ownership of their work. The fund operates at a high standard and moves quickly, but prides itself on a supportive, collegiate culture where people are valued as much as performance. Cultural fit is as important as technical ability. The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves across a wide compliance remit, working closely with colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating regulatory filings across relevant regimes, ensuring accurate and timely submission
- Acting as a trusted compliance advisor to the business, fielding day-to-day queries and providing clear, pragmatic guidance across investment and operational matters
- Maintaining and executing the compliance monitoring programme, including ongoing surveillance and testing
- Horizon scanning for regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the business and contributing to policy updates and implementation
- Reviewing, updating and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
- Supporting the firm’s obligations under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), including fitness and propriety assessments and associated documentation
Candidate Profile
- 4–7 years’ compliance experience, ideally gained on the buyside
- Hedge fund experience highly desirable but not essential
- A genuine doer – proactive, organised and comfortable managing a varied workload with limited hand-holding
- Strong communicator who can engage confidently with senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across the business
- Collaborative by nature, with the interpersonal skills to thrive in a close-knit, high-performing team
- Technically solid across core compliance disciplines with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset
