An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a respected and growing planning consultancy with opportunities available in either Bristol or Birmingham.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to residential, commercial, mixed-use, strategic land and regeneration schemes, working alongside experienced planning professionals on projects that help shape communities across the UK.

The Role
As a Planner or Senior Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to planning determination and appeal where required.
You will be involved in:
- Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients
- Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility assessments
- Preparing planning statements, representations and supporting reports
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Supporting project management and client communications
- Attending client meetings and stakeholder consultations
- Assisting with business development and networking activities
For Senior Planner level candidates, there will be opportunities to take ownership of projects, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to wider business growth.
About You
We are keen to speak with motivated planning professionals who enjoy working in a consultancy environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality planning advice.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant Town Planning degree or postgraduate qualification
- MRTPI Chartered status, or be working towards Chartership
- Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or developer environment
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- Commercial awareness and confidence working directly with clients
- A proactive and collaborative approach
