As School Business Manager, you will play a key strategic and operational role in ensuring the efficient management of the school’s finances, resources, and support services. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to support the school’s vision and ensure financial sustainability.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, driven professional with strong financial and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenditure
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements
  • Manage HR processes including recruitment, contracts, and staff records
  • Oversee premises, health & safety, and facilities management
  • Line manage administrative and support staff
  • Support strategic planning and contribute to school improvement priorities
  • Manage procurement and contracts to ensure best value

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in financial and operational management (school experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of budgeting and financial planning
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of HR and compliance processes
  • Ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to supporting the school’s ethos and values
