Overview

Hexcel is the industry leader in manufacturing advanced composite materials, including carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs, and additive manufactured parts. Hexcel is seeking a Facilities Manager for our Duxford, UK location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and site grounds.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and corporate EHS standards.
  • Maintain statutory compliance across all facilities areas, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and PSSR.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Appoint, manage, and performance monitor external contractors and service providers.
  • Support and manage capital projects, refurbishments, and lifecycle planning initiatives.
  • Control facilities budgets, manage purchase orders and invoices, and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
  • Manage risk assessments, permits to work, emergency procedures, and facilities documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to schedule works and minimize downtime to operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing both hard and soft facilities services.
  • Experience of facilities management within a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fire systems.
  • A recognized qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing contractor performance, service level agreements, and vendor accounts.
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and facilities related legislation.
  • Excellent budget management and cost control skills with strong commercial awareness.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate facilities and compliance records.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
