Use your experience to make a difference. If you or a family member has lived with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), we invite you to join our Paediatric Gastroenterology team as an Expert by Experience Volunteer.
Main duties
Support children, young people and families during outpatient clinic appointments by providing a listening ear, offering reassurance, sharing appropriate information and signposting to charities and support organisations. You will collaborate with nursing staff, attend training, support patient and family engagement events, service improvement projects and research activities throughout the year.
Qualifications & attributes
Approachable, empathetic, confident communicating with diverse patients and families, able to listen without judgement, respect confidentiality and recognise when clinical support is required.
- Positive attitude to volunteering, demonstrating understanding of the Trust Values and how these relate to a volunteer role.
Information for applicants
