Senior Finance Analyst – Inventory & Supply ChainPermanentNottingham – Onsite – Full timeRecruitment Partner: Vyoma GandhiWhat you’ll be doingBoots Opticians are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst – Inventory & Supply Chain to join our Controllership team, reporting into the Finance Manager – Working Capital, Margin & Cashflow. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team that has a broad reach across pivotal business functions, including supply chain and trading.You will use your knowledge of technical accounting and business operations to manage inventory recognition and movements, supplier funding processes, and provide support to teams cross-functionally. You will have responsibility for accurately delivering month end processes, as well as supporting with budgeting and forecasting within both margin and the supply chain cost centres. Key responsibilitiesSupport the finance manager in accurate recording of sales, cost of sales and inventory as part of month end reportingPrepare balance sheet reconciliations for your areas of responsibilityReview inventory levels and assess provisions requiredManage inventory movements related to the returns processesSupport the finance manager with management of the supply chain cost centreWork with the supply and commercial teams to provide useful and accurate reporting, as well as ad hoc support Support with budget and forecasts for cost of sales and the supply chain cost centreProvide support for the external audit process for area of responsibilityIdentify opportunities to drive efficiency in processes by further automationAd hoc projects as requiredWhat you’ll need to have (our must-haves)Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA etc.) accountantMinimum of two years demonstrable experience working in a management accounting or financial accounting roleExperience of delivering to tight deadlines during a month end closeKnowledge and application of accounting standards for inventory under IFRS and USGAAPStrong communication skills with ability to collaborate with senior finance and non-finance stakeholdersAbility to proactively manage workload and deliver in a fast-paced, diverse environment Critical thinking and attention to detailAbility to challenge the way things are and use technical accounting knowledge to improve processesStrong Excel skills are essentialIt would be great if you also haveExperience of SAP PEC and Power BI advantageousPrior experience of working in a role with responsibility for inventory in a retail environmentExperience of management reporting, budgeting and forecastingWhere your brilliance can take youCareer growth within Opticians and the wider group at Boots.Rewards designed for youBoots Retirement Savings PlanDiscretionary annual bonusGenerous employee discountsEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a childFlexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.There’s lots more in our benefits and discounts, MyBoosts – there to give you that little lift in your everyday.
