Deputy Medical Director

Cromwell Hospital, London (with occasional travel to other locations)

Full‑time – 37.5 hours per week (onsite)

Job Description

This newly created Deputy Medical Director role works closely with the Chief Medical Officer to shape the future of clinical services. The role operates at an executive level, driving governance, service development and consultant engagement, supporting the Cromwell Hospital and Diagnostic Centres (London Medical, Basinghall Clinic and Canary Wharf).

How you’ll help us make health happen

  • Provide senior clinical leadership across governance, quality and safety
  • Lead CQC readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Drive clinical strategy and service transformation
  • Oversee consultant credentialing and practising privileges
  • Line‑manage Resident Medical Officers and build high‑performing teams
  • Work with the Lead RMOs on quality improvements such as clinical pathway design and new standard operating policies

Key skills and qualifications

  • Consultant‑level clinician (post‑CCT)
  • Proven leadership experience at Clinical Director/Medical Director level
  • Strong experience across NHS and preferably the independent sector
  • Expertise in clinical governance, quality improvement and change
  • Resilient, credible and able to influence at executive level
