HireIQ is partnering with one of the UK’s most progressive accountancy and business advisory firms to appoint an Employment Tax Senior Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist tax team, leading on complex advisory projects while helping to shape the future growth of the Employment Tax service line.

Working with a diverse client portfolio ranging from owner‑managed businesses to large corporate and international organisations, you’ll act as a trusted adviser on a broad range of employment tax matters while playing a key role in developing client relationships, supporting business development, and mentoring the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of Employment Tax clients, delivering both advisory and compliance services
  • Provide expert advice across PAYE, National Insurance, benefits in kind, expenses, employment status, IR35, and termination payments
  • Manage complex Employment Tax projects and deliver commercially focused technical advice
  • Lead Employment Tax reviews, compliance work, and HMRC enquiries
  • Identify planning opportunities around reward, remuneration, and employee benefits
  • Build and strengthen long‑term client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the Employment Tax practice
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior members of the team
  • Work closely with Partners and Directors on strategic client projects and team development

Your Experience

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent), or qualified by experience
  • Significant Employment Tax or Employer Solutions experience gained within practice
  • Strong technical expertise across UK Employment Tax legislation
  • Proven experience leading complex advisory projects and managing senior client relationships
  • Commercially focused with the ability to provide practical, value‑added advice
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and business development skills
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress towards Director level within a growing specialist tax team
