The college is seeking to appoint an Engagement and Transitions officer to play a pivotal role in supporting young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) to successfully re-engage with education, training, and employment pathways.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Day to day duties
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with external partners including DWP, local councils, youth services, and community organisations.
- Proactively engaging NEET young people through targeted outreach approaches, including community-based activity, events and partnership-led initiatives.
- Representing the College at multi-agency meetings and local forums to promote provision and strengthen referral pathways.
- Generating and managing a pipeline of referrals into NEET provision, supporting individuals from initial enquiry through to enrolment.
Required skills and qualifications
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with young people, particularly those who are disengaged or NEET.
- Experience working with external partners or community organisations.
- Understanding of barriers to participation and strategies to support re-engagement.
