£50,000–£75,000 DOE + £6,827 car allowance.

Role Overview
Due to continued growth across the South and Central regions, a leading principal contractor is appointing a Bid Manager to take ownership of a key regional workload. This standalone position reports directly to the Head of Bid and is responsible for managing and delivering high‑quality bids across rail, water and wider infrastructure projects. The role supports an overstretched team and strengthens local engagement and delivery capability within the Midlands, particularly around Tamworth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end bid process for South and Central region opportunities
- Coordinate internal inputs across technical, commercial and operational teams
- Produce high‑quality written submissions and supporting documentation
- Manage bid programmes, timelines and deadlines
- Engage effectively with key stakeholders and ensure clear communication throughout the bid lifecycle
- Ensure all submissions are compliant, commercially competitive and aligned to client requirements
- Support win strategies and bid reviews
- Maintain strong awareness of market opportunities and client priorities
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager (1 year+) or Bid Writer (5 years+)
- Strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure sectors
- Demonstrable experience delivering successful high‑value bids
- Excellent written communication and bid writing capability
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Stable career history demonstrating commitment and longevity
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within rail or water sectors
- Exposure to complex infrastructure frameworks
- Experience working within main contractor environments
