Apply for the IOT Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

At CBRE, within our Digital Buildings Engineering function, we are building the future of the built environment. We design, deliver, and govern the strategic programs that turn massive real estate portfolios into intelligent, data‑driven ecosystems. If you are passionate about the intersection of data, cloud infrastructure, and building automation, this is where you can make a global impact.

We are looking for an IoT Manager to join our team as the ultimate gatekeeper and driver of our digital transformation journey.

Your mission is to own the critical bridge between physical building automation systems (BMS) and cloud‑based analytics. In this role, you will lead the technical integration and governance of two core portfolio initiatives: C76 data on‑boarding and Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) platform deployments.

You will own the data validation pipeline ensuring that building data is cleanly exported to the cloud (C76) as an absolute prerequisite before on‑boarding sites onto our automated analytics layer (FDD). This is a highly collaborative, high‑visibility role spanning across an incredibly diverse EMEA portfolio (from Ireland to the UAE).

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for building on‑boarding, managing project intakes for the Building Operating System (BOS) Platform.
  • Review and select valuable data points, translating complex field data into Digital Building Ontology (DBO) compliant names to ensure flawless data quality.
  • Execute and verify critical technical prerequisites, including C13 BACnet Packet Capture Analysis, ensuring network stability before cloud on‑boarding. Gather and synthesise engineering documentation (mechanical schedules, single-lines, and sequences of operations) to empower our modelling teams.
  • Lead site engagement, navigating the end‑to‑end access process to secure read‑only BMS connectivity for vendor partners.
  • Monitor deployment progress using tools like Smartsheet and Buganizer. Lead live platform demonstrations and sign off on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for final site handovers.
  • Manage vendor Requests for Information (RFIs), track Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and log project risks (CRAID) to keep global deployments moving flawlessly.
  • Ensure all digital rollouts remain compliant with long‑term account operations, network security guidelines, and MACD standards.

Success Looks Like

  • You are the undisputed subject‑matter expert that local facility managers, vendors, and clients turn to for on‑boarding guidance.
  • Data layers are perfectly DBO‑compliant from day one, entirely preventing downstream errors on our FDD platform.
  • Project handovers are seamless, resulting in stable, secure, and highly operational systems with zero lagging data gaps.
  • You can sit with a master systems integrator and talk BACnet packets, then jump on a call with a non‑technical corporate client and clearly articulate project milestones and risks.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BEng) in an engineering, scientific, or highly technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in smart buildings, digital engineering, building technology, or technical project coordination.
  • Broad knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), networked systems design, and engineering documentation (point lists, schematics).
  • Proven experience managing technical ticketing systems (e.g. Buganizer), tracking progress via Smartsheet, and escalating project risks.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate highly technical data patterns into simple, actionable insights for clients.

Desirable

  • Master’s degree in a digital, IT, or related field.
  • Direct working knowledge of Digital Building Ontology (DBO) or generic semantic modeling concepts.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Architecture and infrastructure standards (e.g. C76 or equivalent cloud‑export frameworks).
  • Hands‑on experience executing BACnet Packet Capture Analysis.
