Salary: £40,000 – 70,000 per year
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years commercial experience developing with Oracle SQL.
- Experience with Python and/or DCL scripting.
- Strong SQL performance tuning and database optimisation skills.
- Experience working with manufacturing systems or MES environments is highly desirable.
- Experience migrating or refactoring legacy scripts into SQL-based solutions is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise Oracle SQL code to support the PROMIS MES platform.
- Rewrite existing GUI scripts into Oracle SQL to operate via the ODS (Operational Data Store).
- Work closely with the MES SME and project stakeholders throughout the upgrade project.
- Support data migration, system integration and testing activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and application issues.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability and manufacturing compliance requirements.
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join a major PROMIS Manufacturing Execution System (MES) upgrade project. We work in a hybrid setup with two days a week on site in Towcester, supporting the Caswell manufacturing facility. You will work alongside our MES Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support, develop, and optimise the Manufacturing Execution System that underpins production operations, with a key focus on rewriting existing GUI scripts into Oracle SQL so they can operate via the Operational Data Store (ODS). This is an inside IR35 contract offering £40-£45 per hour for an initial 3 months, with the opportunity to contribute to a critical manufacturing systems upgrade.
