Overview
We’re looking for a driven and innovative Mechanical Project Engineer to help shape the future of the Trawsfynydd site as it transitions to a safe and secure end state.
What will you be doing:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of delivering robust, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions, translating project functional requirements and stakeholder needs into effective designs and technical specifications that meet the highest safety and quality standards. You’ll guide the full project lifecycle, contribute to design, optioneering, and safety case, ensuring detailed design activities align with design authority standards. Acting as a technical resource, you’ll oversee detailed design, assess contractor outputs, and ensure every element is delivered safely and in line with intent. You’ll play a key role in successful project completion.
- Produce and review project technical specifications.
- Carry out technical review of contractor design proposals.
- Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on this first‑of‑a‑kind project.
Who Are We Looking For
We’re looking for a proactive and delivery‑focused Project Engineer with a proven record and passion for delivering in high‑performing project teams, applying engineering principles within complex plant settings, and expertise in CDM Design responsibilities.
Qualifications
- HNC (Level 4) as a minimum, preferably degree qualified (Level 6) or working towards it.
- Be a chartered Engineer or working towards obtaining chartered status.
- Experience practising disciplined engineering roles on an industrial plant.
It would be advantageous to have knowledge/experience in mechanical engineering and computer‑aided design. Successful candidates will be required to hold Authorisations commensurate with the role.
Benefits and Working Arrangements
Role can be based at either Trawsfynydd Site or Bristol Hub. You will have flexibility on base location for multi‑site roles and can discuss flexible working options.
