Salary: £40,000 per annum, rising to £53,000 once passing probation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a quality professional with strong audit capability and experience operating in regulated healthcare environments.
You will:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance of ISO 15189 standards across clinical and forensic services
- Conduct and manage internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and continuous improvement
- Embed a risk-based quality governance framework, aligning operational delivery with regulatory expectations
- Analyse audit findings, incidents and KPI trends to drive data-led improvements
- Support services to reduce variation, improve turnaround times and strengthen clinical quality
- Act as a subject matter expert on quality management systems (QMS) and audit best practice
- Deliver training and guidance on ISO 15189, audit preparedness and quality processes
- Coach and influence operational and clinical leaders to adopt a “right first time” quality culture
- Contribute to organisational learning through effective risk management and incident reporting
You will work closely with the Director of Governance and Quality, playing a key role in ensuring our services consistently meet the highest clinical and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Proven experience working with ISO 15189 or equivalent quality standards
- Strong background in clinical audit, compliance and quality management systems
- Experience within healthcare, forensic, laboratory or regulated environments
- Ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical service improvements
- Experience influencing stakeholders and driving change across multiple sites
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, coach and challenge constructively
- Audit course
- A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle as travel is essential.
- Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent
- Experience within SARCs, custody healthcare or justice settings
- Knowledge and experience of CQC standards and wider healthcare regulation
