Overview

Train Managers join CrossCountry at Edinburgh and are the face of the brand. You will deliver excellent customer service on Voyager trains travelling at up to 125mph and ensure safe journeys for all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check and sell tickets on board our services
  • Advise customers about their journeys, communicating individually and in groups
  • Meet individual customer needs and manage luggage issues
  • Maintain a comfortable train environment by fixing and reporting defective equipment
  • Handle unexpected events calmly and with confidence
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and be prepared to lead in critical situations
  • Work collaboratively with on‑board colleagues to create memorable experiences for passengers
  • Complete a 10‑week training course starting in September at Derby

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must live within one hour’s commute of Edinburgh
  • Reliable to travel during unsocial hours and shift work
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Required to obtain a safety‑critical medical and pass a DBS check
