Project Design Engineer

Camfil is seeking a capable and innovative Project Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering department. The role covers management of contract orders from technical handover to sign off, including generation of drawings for approval and manufacture, detailed bill of materials, liaison with purchasing, and coordination of site work.

Location: Haslingden (UK) or Chomutov (Czechia) plants.

Responsibilities

• Convert sales order paperwork into a manufacturing & engineering job pack in line with company procedures.
• Produce general assembly and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWORKS.
• Create detailed bills of materials for manufacture within the company ERP system.
• Serve as point of contact for internal and external customers regarding drawing approval, delivery schedules, technical queries, and issues.
• Manage project scopes ranging from equipment supply only to equipment supply, installation, and site commissioning.
• Support the sales department with customer enquiries by producing sales drawings and technical solutions.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in an engineering subject.
• Work experience in the supply and installation of machinery and/or sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience producing 3D CAD assemblies and fabrication drawings; proficiency in SolidWORKS is essential, sheet metal design experience is advantageous.
• Experience working with MRP systems and bills of materials.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, pneumatics, process instrumentation & control, and CE & ATEX regulations is beneficial.
• Demonstrable technical expertise with applicable hardware and software, including MS Office products.
• Full training will be provided in technical aspects of our product portfolio.
