The Role

As an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer at South Staffordshire Limited, you will play a key role in delivering secure, resilient, and high‑performing IT services across the organisation. This is a hands‑on technical role working across both cloud and on‑premise environments, supporting critical infrastructure, strengthening security, and contributing to both business‑as‑usual operations and major transformation projects. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, architecture, cyber security, and project delivery teams to implement and support modern technology solutions that enable the business to operate effectively and securely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, manage, and support secure cloud and on‑premise infrastructure aligned to architectural standards and business requirements
  • Configure and maintain security tools including Zscaler, Guardicore, Defender, Sentinel, InTune, and Log Analytics
  • Support network and firewall technologies including Checkpoint, Fortigate, Meraki, and Azure firewalls
  • Balance operational support responsibilities with infrastructure improvement and transformation projects
  • Take ownership of technical issues through to resolution using ITSM tools and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Work closely with architects, project managers, cyber security teams, and third‑party partners to deliver high‑quality solutions
  • Maintain high levels of IT security, support risk management activities, and ensure adherence to technical standards and procedures
  • Produce technical documentation, support testing activities, and contribute to installation and deployment planning
  • Travel to UK sites as required and provide occasional out‑of‑hours support

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working with cloud and infrastructure technologies across both on‑premise and Azure environments
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies including Zscaler, Guardicore, Defender, Sentinel, and Log Analytics
  • Experience supporting Windows, Linux, and VMware environments
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals including IP addressing and routing
  • Experience using ITSM and monitoring tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate technical concepts effectively
  • Experience with cloud telephony systems
  • Able to pass a security clearance check
