Working Pattern: Homeworking; occasional travel to meet Brokers in London.

Job Summary

Deliver lending services to meet customer expectations, ensuring high quality solutions and recommendations within a risk‑focused environment, creating a centre of excellence for lending‑related products and services.

As a Private Banking Lending Manager you will join the Specialised Lending Team and support clients with complex residential and specialist lending needs, working closely with Private Banking colleagues, Wealth Credit Risk teams and professional introducers to deliver exceptional customer outcomes while maintaining strong risk and control standards. This highly relationship‑focused role involves growing and developing our broker and introducer network, identifying new lending opportunities and supporting clients throughout the lending lifecycle. From managing new lending enquiries and renewals through to improving processes and influencing stakeholders you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the business.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years experience managing complex High Net Worth (HNW) residential lending and specialist lending cases.
  • Experience working within the UK residential property market, with a strong understanding of associated lending products and processes.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Private Banking colleagues, Credit Risk teams, brokers and introducers.
  • Strong judgement and decision‑making skills, with experience assessing complex lending scenarios while balancing customer outcomes and risk considerations.
  • Demonstrable experience improving processes, maintaining robust controls and ensuring high standards of documentation and governance.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience coaching or supporting colleagues on lending standards, credit reasoning or lending best practice.
  • Knowledge of Private Banking or Wealth Management customer propositions.

Certification and Compliance

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement, and annually. Colleagues performing this role will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks. As a certified colleague, your details will be published on the FCA’s Financial Services Register. The role has been identified as functions requiring qualifications under SYSC27.8.10R, and functions of managing certification employees under SYSC27.8.13R, as defined in the FCA Handbook.
