Job Overview
Our Acute Coronary Syndromes specialist nurse team play a pivotal and dynamic role in the care of our patients with acute and chronic coronary syndromes. You will be supporting the team in the running of virtual ward for low risk ACS patients. You will be providing care in both and inpatient and outpatient setting. Your role will be focused on triaging and developing investigation strategies and treatment plans ensuring the patient has a comprehensive management plan on discharge. You will preparing patient information MDTs and contributing to audit and service development.
Training and Induction
You will receive a comprehensive induction programme, will be supported by senior specialist nurse team. And their will be training course opportunities depending on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
Work autonomously as a specialist at Royal Free London, delivering high quality acute cardiology care. Identify and investigate new and ongoing acute and chronic coronary syndromes, ensuring patients receive optimal, evidence based treatment. Support diagnosis, management, and follow up of patients across inpatient and outpatient pathways. Contribute to length of stay reduction initiatives by identifying patients suitable for remote monitoring, and virtual ward management.
Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, community services, primary care, and cardiology teams to ensure seamless, integrated care. Provide specialist training on Acute and chronic coronary syndromes and pathways. Attend MDT meetings, advocate for patients, and contribute to clinical decision making.
Lead and develop the specialist nursing service using patient feedback, audit, and research. Act as a role model and mentor, supporting excellence in practice. Line manage Band 6 nurses and healthcare assistants, and support the training and development of junior staff. Work flexibly to meet service needs.
