Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team at Derbyshire County Council, helping to improve population health and reduce inequalities across Derbyshire.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication skills to lead a range of public health knowledge and intelligence programmes. The successful candidate will bring demonstrable specialist knowledge and substantial experience, particularly in applying epidemiological principles and evidence-based approaches to understand population health needs, identify trends and inequalities, and inform decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Using both quantitative and qualitative data, analyse patterns and determinants of health, critically appraise evidence, and translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of policies, services and interventions that improve health outcomes.
  • Work across a complex public health, healthcare and social care system, collaborating effectively with a wide range of partner organisations to improve outcomes for the people of Derbyshire.
