Position

Edinburgh MSK Physiotherapy ServicePosition: B7 MSK Advanced Physiotherapy PractitionerPart‑time: 18 hrs, 0.5 wteSalary: pro‑rataLocation: Central Edinburgh GP Practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Part of the physiotherapy service within the GP practice team
  • Provide a safe and effective triage service for GP patients presenting with MSK conditions
  • First‑contact capacity; triage patients from reception and from GP colleagues’ referrals
  • Provide brief interventions and self‑management advice, refer for investigations as indicated, and make onward referrals to physiotherapy or secondary care in line with patient‑centred care
  • Demonstrate high clinical reasoning, red‑flag screening and differential diagnosis knowledge
  • Support progression towards a master’s level through formal modules (injection therapy, first‑contact practice, prescribing) and portfolio submission

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants must hold a PVG Scheme membership or record. If not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult) the candidate must apply to Disclosure Scotland and be deemed satisfactory before commencing.

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this role may require a different level of criminal records check. Confirmation will be provided by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.

Legal requirement: applicants must demonstrate permission to work in the United Kingdom, as granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
