Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Specialist
Band 6 specialist nurse post in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Two posts are available – one at Wythenshawe Hospital and one at North Manchester General Hospital. The post holder will work closely with all members of the gastroenterology team based at MFT to ensure patients receive seamless IBD care across the Trust and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing advice to support assessment, planning and implementation of care for patients with IBD.
- Carry out specialist nursing procedures and contribute to specialist education and training programmes for other staff and learners.
- Support the development of IBD services and manage patients with complex disease with the wider IBD MDT service.
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level.
- Hold Salford IBD unit or equivalent qualification.
- Non‑medical prescriber.
Knowledge and Experience
- Competent in use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of clinical information systems, e.g. electronic patient record.
- Competent in databases and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory acquired through CPD.
- At least 2 years post‑registration experience within gastroenterology/endoscopy.
- Evidence of involvement in the development of protocols and clinical audit.
- Experience within inflammatory bowel disease nursing.

Additional Requirements
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.
- Must comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.

£39,959 to £48,117 per annum pro rata
