We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a global engineering company based in Redditch.
Salary is up to £53,600 per annum plus 25 days’ holiday and bank holidays, company pension, bonus etc.
Schedule: The role is working Monday to Friday but covering days, afternoons and nights.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve both planned and unplanned engineering issues, including equipment failures and plant breakdowns.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability, implementing preventative maintenance strategies to achieve operational targets and key performance indicators.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, driving enhancements to equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory and coordinate the procurement of materials, contractor services, and project requirements through maintenance management systems.
- Carry out occasional installation, commissioning, servicing, fabrication, and repair work as required.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, operating procedures, maintenance records, and system backups.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a proactive and technically capable engineer who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven manufacturing environment. A Level 3 NVQ Electrical Apprenticeship (or equivalent) is essential, while an HNC, HND, or Degree in an Engineering discipline would be advantageous.
A strong electrical engineering background combined with practical mechanical knowledge is required. Experience within a manufacturing or automated production environment is highly desirable, along with an understanding of equipment reliability, quality standards, and operational performance requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Strong electrical fault‑finding and maintenance experience, supported by sound mechanical knowledge.
- Experience with automated manufacturing or process‑based production environments.
- Knowledge of PLC‑controlled systems, ideally including Allen‑Bradley or similar platforms.
- Experience working with industrial robotics, such as ABB or comparable systems.
- Familiarity with material handling and delivery systems.
- Practical maintenance experience involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to undertake fabrication and welding activities where required.
- Experience with encapsulation or similar specialist manufacturing processes would be beneficial.
