About The Role
The successful candidate will provide first-class service and calibration support to my client’s customer base across the assigned territory (South Central / Southwest).
Responsibilities
- Undergoing training which will involve shadowing experienced engineers.
- Attending a variety of customer sites including both academia and research organisations.
- Managing your own support cases and diary.
- Calibrating, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a range of high value microscopy equipment.
- Providing effective on‑site customer support including system installation (hardware & software) and commissioning.
- Providing site based and remote maintenance (preventative and reactive), fault finding and diagnostic support to board level.
- Developing a high level of technical expertise within your assigned product category.
- Submitting accurate and timely service reports.
About You
The ideal candidate will be educated to Masters or PhD level with proven knowledge and experience within the area of Optics and Microscopy. Candidates should be a heavy microscopy user or possibly have been involved in building and adding elements to increase microscope functionality.
Degree level candidates will be considered should they possess a minimum of 1 year’s experience working as a technician or service engineer on analytical instruments.
Qualifications
- An enthusiastic and professional communicator.
- Full UK driving Licence.
- Willingness to learn.
- Well organised, self‑motivated and approachable personality.
- Rights to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not offered).
Location
Ideally based within a 1.5 hour commute of Oxford.
