Contract Maintenance Engineer – East London / Essex Border (Outside IR35)
Location: Barking / Ilford, East London – Essex Border
Contract: 6+ Months
Rate: 40 per hour (Outside IR35)

About the Role
We are seeking experienced Contract Maintenance Engineers to join a manufacturing facility located on the East London / Essex border. These are long-term contract opportunities for engineers with a proven background maintaining machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
There are currently two positions available with different shift patterns.
Position 1
Shift Pattern: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off
Rate: 40 per hour
Position 2
Shift Pattern: Rotating Monday to Friday Shifts
- 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
- 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- 10:00 pm – 6:00 am
Rate: 40 per hour

Key Duties
- Planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Diagnosing and repairing production machinery
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining health and safety standards across the site
Requirements
- Mechanical or Electrical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience maintaining production or factory machinery
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting
- Multi‑skilled engineers are preferred

Barking, Ilford, Dagenham, Romford, Rainham, Stratford, East Ham, Beckton, Leyton, Walthamstow, Woodford, Chigwell, Brentwood, Basildon, Grays, Dartford, Bexleyheath, Enfield, Hackney and surrounding areas across East London and Essex.
