The Role
Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership to a team of controls engineers while supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of control systems.
Working closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams, you will ensure control systems are fully integrated, meet performance requirements, and comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
The role will involve overseeing control system development, supporting testing and validation activities, troubleshooting complex technical issues, mentoring engineers, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
About You
- HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong PLC programming experience, including ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks.
- Experience developing HMI applications using VB.NET or similar high-level programming languages.
- Experience creating technical documentation and engineering specifications.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP and EtherCAT is advantageous.
