Salary: £53,000 + Pension + Overtime
Shift Pattern: Continental – 4 on 4 off 2 days 2 nights 6‑6

My client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers within its field of food based packaging products and associated processes. The group is a well established producer to the European markets and has been established for over 30 years. The site in Preston is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this secure organisation.
Key Skills
- Apprentice trained engineer in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, but must be multi‑skilled
- Experience of PLC systems & automated machinery
- Understanding of PPM systems
Responsibilities
- Service and maintain manufacturing equipment: corrugator machines, palletising lines, conveyor systems
- Work in collaboration with Engineering department on PPM schedules
- Undertake electrical repairs and upgrade of circuits
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies
- Complete planned, preventative maintenance to high quality standards
You should have completed a full apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering, and have experience working within planned and preventative maintenance schedules, working on conveyors, inverters, drives, sensors, plastics or insulation machines, packaging machines, motors, print units, cutting units, stacking and folding machines.
On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for all production equipment ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies and completing all maintenance activities to the highest standards. There is a huge scope and variety on offer, so the successful candidate will be in line to broaden their skills considerably.
