Day Electrical / Hybrid Engineer – HVAP

Position Concept
- Have a detailed understanding of electrical infrastructure.
- Responsible for inspection, operation and maintenance of all associated assets within the Data Centre, with a primary focus on electrical asset maintenance (planned, reactive, and corrective).
- Take ownership of any issues related to electrical systems within the facility, aiming to increase reliability through proactive maintenance standards.
- Support the shift teams in the delivery of day‑to‑day operations in line with client processes and procedures.
- Potential to be an HV authorised person for the site and actively contribute to the successful delivery of all critical works.
Key Tasks
- Operate all electrical systems within the Data Centre competently, effectively and efficiently, including isolations/operations.
- Consider business risk and energy use.
- Make recommendations for improvement and provide concise technical reports when required.
- Work closely with shift teams to ensure specialist subcontractor visits are conducted in line with approved SOPs, MOP, PTW, and client change requests.
- Ensure subcontractor worksheets are signed off where necessary, quality of work is inspected and recommendations are communicated to the shift leader.
- Provide engineering relief cover in lieu of annual leave, training or other absences within the engineering shift teams.
- Accurately report all completed work orders, recording any critical spares/stock items used.
- Attend meetings as requested with CBRE management.
- Understand and participate in relevant EOP scenario drills (mock drills).
- Respond to all client requests within SLA.
- Undertake planned, reactive and corrective maintenance tasks as requested.
- Actively participate in QHSE compliance activities, such as hazard/near‑miss reporting and toolbox talks.
- Adhere to client CEM processes and procedures when undertaking all relevant work orders.
- Liaise with the supply chain when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
- Attend nominated training courses identified by CBRE management in line with DCS training matrix.
- Undertake site‑specific technical assessments and skills gap analysis at intervals defined by CBRE/client.
- Work with shift teams ensuring all plant rooms under CBRE control are maintained to required show‑site standards.
- Evaluate and escalate potential risks with assessment of impact, probable causes and mitigation opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with QHSE policy and procedures.
Scope of Services
- Building management system (monitoring of Data Centre).
- Lighting control system.
- CMMS (Archibus).
- Lighting and small power infrastructure maintenance, repair and installation.
- Emergency lighting.
- Other Data Centre related electrical infrastructure.
- As and where required.
Personal Specification
- Relevant electrical experience in maintenance and repairs, preferably within a critical environment.
- Electrical authorised person for HV & LV systems desirable.
- Proactive in achieving operational excellence.
- Good IT and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and delivering services within time constraints.
- Willingness to attend on‑ and off‑site training, including nights away for residential courses.
- Physical fitness.
- High level of initiative.
- Smart, presentable uniformed appearance.
- Ability to comprehend and act on verbal and written instructions.
- Enthusiasm, pro‑activity, diligence and alertness, with willingness to participate in appropriate training schemes.
- Integrity, honesty and punctuality.
