Role Overview

As a Field Services Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality on-site IT support to our clients. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing hardware, resolving technical issues and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Acting as a trusted representative of the organisation, you will build strong relationships with customers and communicate clearly.

Reporting to a local team leader you will be working across a defined geographic area local to your home, you’ll visit multiple customer sites each day. Your day will typically begin at a local parts depot, where you’ll collect the equipment required before heading out to customer locations.

Location

Your day will typically start by collecting parts from our Exeter depot, covering a territory which includes most of Devon and Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver on-site hardware support and maintenance in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Manage and progress assigned tickets, ensuring timely updates and resolution
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and basic software issues efficiently
  • Communicate with clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors as needed
  • Through our internal systems, accessed via an App, maintain accurate service records
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records and stock levels of parts inventory
  • Ensure relevant certifications are maintained
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to undergo BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic software issues
  • Experience building and deploying PCs/laptops (including OS installation)
  • Good understanding of IT systems and environments
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset

Desirable (not essential)

  • Vendor certifications (e.g. Dell, Lenovo, or similar enterprise-level)
  • Experience with Server environments
