Quality Engineer

Overview

SF Engineering is supporting a Midlands manufacturing business with over 150 years of history to find a Plant Quality Engineer. The company prides itself on being one of the UK’s most experienced automotive pressing manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Support all necessary activities to improve quality, minimise costs and drive improvements to support business and customer satisfaction.
• Support quality issues and participate to ensure zero impact to customers.
• Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System – IATF & ISO.
• Report key performance indicators to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of non-conformity related products.
• Lead quality-related issues for internal, supplier and customer concerns.
• Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues using proven methodology such as 8D and supporting tools.
• CMM application and CMM programming knowledge would be advantageous.
• Assist NPI team with new product introduction and supporting activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing organisation.
• Proven problem‑solving ability using known techniques – 8D, 5 Why etc.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of quality systems.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
