High-Voltage Electronics Engineer
The client is a global pioneer in highly reliable, complex RF power electronics. The role involves designing and manufacturing specialized power components for demanding environments. You will lead the product lifecycle of high-reliability, high-voltage (5kV‑60kV) systems, bridging R&D and manufacturing, and ensuring compliance and manufacturability.
The Role
As a Technical Lead within the RF Power Project Engineering group, you will champion the development of high‑voltage systems from concept to volume production. Responsibilities include:
- Designing subsystems and circuits to meet cost and compliance targets.
- Steering products through New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Ensuring Design for Manufacture (DFM) standards are met.
- Providing technical authority for production support, including component‑level fault analysis and performance issue resolution.
- Monitoring market technologies for upgrade opportunities.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in product development and power electronic system design.
- Experience working with HV power systems.
- Ability to gain Full UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent high‑level practical experience.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Switch‑Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design.
- High‑frequency digital and analogue circuit design (ideally within MILSPEC applications).
- PCB design, layout tools, and schematic capture.
- Electrical safety, safe working practices, risk assessments, and mitigation activities.
Desirable Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electrical and RF test techniques and DFMEA/FMEA.
- Experience utilizing ERP/SAP systems.
- Previous experience identifying IPR/patent opportunities and supporting claim generation.
