Overview

The Commercial Refrigeration Engineer – London – 50K role is a full‑time, permanent position based in the City of London. This mobile role covers London and the M25. Salary £40,000 to £50,000 (DOE), with an on‑target earnings of £60,000–£65,000. Immediate starts are available for qualified engineers with relevant experience. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance across retail, hospitality, and light commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of refrigeration systems such as walk‑in units, drinks chillers, and stand‑alone units.
  • Fault‑find, diagnose and repair refrigeration plant across retail, hospitality, and light commercial environments.
  • Provide detailed remedial repair reports and information on replacement component parts.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant health & safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records using PDA and company systems.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and represent the company professionally on site.
  • Participate in the 1‑in‑4 call‑out rota.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in commercial air‑conditioning & refrigeration maintenance and repair.
  • Valid F‑Gas qualification – essential.
  • Relevant AC qualifications and manufacturer training – advantageous.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary & Package

Salaries £40,000 – £50,000 base (depending on experience and skill level) with OTE £60,000–£65,000. Travel over 1 hour each day is paid at 1.5OT rate. Flexible early finish – paid full day if the job is done early and cleared with the office. Abundant regular overtime opportunities at enhanced rates. Company van & fuel card, specialist tools, PPE, uniform, smartphone & PDA. 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, company pension scheme. 1‑in‑4 call‑out – 3 hours minimum, D2D travel pay & bonuses for first‑time fix.
