Job Overview
Manufacturing Engineer based in Shipley with occasional work from other CMBe UK sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve plant manufacturing processes.
- Plan, schedule, and implement manufacturing operations in assembly areas.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Production Engineering teams.
- Design new systems, equipment, and processes to support new product introductions and product line improvements.
- Develop automated and non-automated manufacturing systems and test new and existing processes.
- Maintain and update PFMEA, EBOM/MBOM and other engineering documentation.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency and speed, and own the ECR/ECN process for projects.
- Champion SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) principles in all projects.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly meetings to ensure smooth transition to full production.
- Support review and tender stages for new equipment and work with stakeholders to agree technical specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers on project requirements.
Qualifications
- HND or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering; currently studying or working toward a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, especially assembly operations, fixture development, and poka-yoke.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, preferably AutoCAD and Siemens NX.
- Strong communication skills – able to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-solving, organisational and time-management abilities.
- Strategic thinking and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, EBOM/MBOM, and engineering change management processes.
