Role at a Glance
Field Manager / Senior Field EngineerLocation: South East / London / Home Counties – access to Dartford or Andover officesSalary: £50,000 – £55,000Core hours: on‑site 08:00‑17:00, with one hour for lunchBenefits: extensive benefits package, car allowance, pension, holidays, wellness programme, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the effective day‑to‑day management of site operations on lift installation or modernisation projects.
- Define project objectives and manage multiple installation or modernisation sites, supervise the installation of equipment, monitor site progress and coordinate with stakeholders both on‑ and off‑site.
- Ensure projects run on time and within budget, monitor engineers and subcontractors to maintain delivery standards.
- Communicate and coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors, acting as the key technical point of contact on site.
- Mitigate safety, ethics and quality risks, ensuring compliance with Liftec Express policies as well as government and legal requirements.
- Support customer satisfaction, provide technical engineering guidance and contribute to improved project profitability.
- Train and monitor subcontractors (where applicable), ensuring high standards of safety, quality and operational delivery across all projects.
About You
- An experienced lift professional with a strong background in installation and/or modernisation, bringing deep technical knowledge of lift systems and site‑based operations.
- An NVQ Level 3 in Lift Installation (or equivalent) – essential. NVQ4 in Lift Commissioning, SMSTS or SSSTS certification and an appropriate CSCS card would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment.
- Organised, self‑reliant and able to manage site activities, monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong computer skills and commercial awareness to support project performance and profitability.
- Whether already operating in a field‑management capacity or a senior engineer ready to step up, you will be supported with structured training and development.
