About the Role
Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity to shape a proactive quality culture across the organization. As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers to prevent defects, improve processes, and ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Promote and uphold Terex quality standards, a zero‑defect culture and best practices across the entire manufacturing process—from suppliers to the shop floor to the customer.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve consistency.
- Support creation and revision of quality alerts, control plans, inspection standards and other quality documentation.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S and process standardization.
- Qualify new local suppliers for castings, fabrications, and machined parts.
- Use statistical methods to fault‑find and support solutions to technical issues, including using control plans and SOPs.
- Ensure bought‑in products meet quality sign‑off criteria, and work with suppliers when issues arise.
- When non‑conformance exists, initiate suitable manufacturing containment actions while working with the supply base and technical personnel to achieve root‑cause analysis and long‑term solutions.
- Support day‑to‑day operations to minimize production impact due to quality issues and attend regular meetings to report quality trends and actions.
- Support new product planning and development (NPPD) within the factory from design review through prototype build.
- Assist with customer concerns and queries.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, based on the evolving needs of the department.
Qualifications
- Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment with quality/supplier quality experience.
- Proven track record in manufacturing, covering fabrication and assembly disciplines.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and problem‑solving techniques used throughout the industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Desirable: Internal audit certification.
- Experience maintaining a Quality Management System.
- Experience in new product introduction and advanced product quality planning.
- Experience dealing with customers.
