Overview
Position: Programs and Solutions Lead – Supply Chain & Engineering (Procurement). Location: Welwyn. This role sits within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter and is responsible for orchestrating strategic priorities, catalyzing value delivery and amplifying Procurement Excellence across Roche Global Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high‑performing, agile team focused on Supply Chain and Engineering.
- Deliver a high‑impact portfolio that includes market‐ and supplier‑driven innovation, cost transformations, critical negotiations and other high‑stakes procurement initiatives.
- Set the gold standard for quality and pace, demanding a “continuous development” mindset to keep ahead of market trends.
- Coach a medium‑to‑large team, guide resource allocation and plan to translate high‑level objectives into measurable outcomes.
- Build a community where curiosity, psychological safety and radical collaboration are fostered, encouraging people to experiment, learn from failures and celebrate successes together.
- Diagnose complex business needs within the Supply Chain and Engineering space, choose the right approach (solution or program) and accelerate value realisation.
- Lead the design and refinement of project tools and frameworks for beyond‑procurement models and complex strategic programs.
- Network within Global Procurement and the broader business, influencing senior leaders through data‑driven insights, compelling storytelling and seamless collaboration.
- Maintain deep focus on Supply Chain and Engineering while remaining agile enough to adapt to future market shifts and evolving business priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree (Business, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred).
- A seasoned expert in procurement, supply chain or management consulting, with a proven track record of leading supplier innovation, complex cost‑out initiatives or high‑value negotiations.
- A strategic visionary who has delivered complex strategies and managed significant business cases, translating vision into measurable results.
- Influential communicator with exceptional presentation skills, capable of navigating senior‑level discussions and solving intricate problems through collaboration.
- An efficiency mindset that values speed‑to‑market and prefers scaling and repurposing successful frameworks over starting from scratch.
- Enterprise thinker who connects across the Roche procurement network to drive greater impact.
- A commitment to people, community, and continuous development, known for being inclusive, open‑minded and receptive to feedback.
- Business‑level fluency in English.
