Senior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Role Purpose

Lead and manage tendering and quantity surveying activities, producing accurate cost estimates and ensuring effective financial control across projects while meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage tenders, cost estimates, and Bills of Quantities (up to £5M)
• Coordinate bid processes and ensure compliant, high-quality submissions
• Manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and financial forecasts
• Prepare interim applications, valuations, and final accounts
• Negotiate with supply chain to achieve best value
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and opportunities
• Liaise with stakeholders to agree tender figures and maintain relationships
• Support business growth through innovation and process improvement
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Essential Criteria

• HNC/Degree in Construction (or equivalent experience)
• Proven estimating and quantity surveying experience (refurb & new build)
• Strong knowledge of tendering, procurement, and bid management
• Experience managing project financials (CVRs, forecasts, reporting)
• Good understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and measurement methods
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• Full UK driving licence and CSCS card
