My client, an established small‑ish firm of Quantity Surveying consultants, now seeks a Quantity Surveyor at Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level to join their City of London office.
Key responsibilities:
- Run own projects as a Quantity Surveyor, and ideally run several projects concurrently, working closely with clients, architects and interior designers.
- Manage a variety of projects including retail fit‑outs for flagship stores, office fit‑outs, sports clubs and high‑end residential developments.
- Take ownership of selected live projects from pre‑construction through to handover and completion.
- Prepare cost plans, tender documentation and conduct tender analysis.
- Manage contractor procurement, provide recommendations to the client and support value engineering exercises to achieve project budgets.
Qualifications
- Currently working for a UK firm of PQS at either Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level.
- Do not need to be chartered but should have good experience of pre‑ and post‑contract work, including contract administration.
- Recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying such as a BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar.
- Around 2+ years experience, ideally with a PQS.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to engage people at all levels.
- Stable work record.
Benefits
- Salary: £50,000‑£60,000 for Project Surveyor level; £60,000‑£70,000 for Senior Surveyor level.
