Field Service Engineer – UK

Location: Home office base but commutable to their offices in the East Midlands.

Salary: £40,000 plus car.

Chemistry Laboratory Instrumentation organisation – electromechanical.

Our client is recognised as global experts in their field and support customers within a wide range of industries from pharma/drug discovery, chemicals, automotive, food, pharmacy and academia.

The Service Engineer is a key customer facing part of this approach. The role is field based but with ~1 day a week in the office. It requires good interpersonal skills, a flexible approach and strong electromechanical skills with lab instrumentation.

• installation and commissioning instrumentation at customer sites
• training end-users and support in system set-up and optimisation
• Preventative maintenance, calibration and routine service
• Technical support and troubleshooting
• compiling method statements and risk assessments
• Identify and pass on potential leads to the Sales team

About you:

• qualification and experience in maintenance, support and installing electro-mechanical based lab systems
• Ideally a knowledge of temperature control systems
• Good customer communication skills
• knowledge of PLC programming
• willingness to travel/overnight stays
