Consumer and Product Communications Consultant, EMEA

We’re seeking a strong, hands‑on PR professional to join our small, high‑impact team to support product and consumer communications for OpenAI and ChatGPT across EMEA. This role will report to the EMEA Consumer and Product Communications Lead.

We expect this role to play an important part in building consumer understanding, trust and love of our technology and products – showcasing the magic of ChatGPT’s intelligence and showing how it helps people get ahead in life and work.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the day‑to‑day delivery of product launches across EMEA – managing coordination with multiple agencies while landing proactive stories, content and case studies that showcase how our technology helps people get ahead in life and work.
  • Manage and support the delivery of creative, proactive communications campaigns, launches and events across multiple channels (media, influencers, stakeholders) that tap into popular culture and inspire, educate and build trust with mainstream audiences.
  • Manage the delivery of our earned influencer programme across EMEA.
  • Help prepare briefing materials, talking points and media engagement plans for OpenAI spokespeople.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers across national, mainstream, lifestyle, culture and technology sectors across EMEA.
  • Overall, we are a small, horizontal team with everyone involved in a range of opportunities, so the candidate must be comfortable being flexible and scrappy.

Ideal Experience

  • 6+ years of professional PR experience (agency or in‑house), with expertise in mainstream consumer communications across multiple channels (owned and earned).
  • Strong creativity and proactive media and influencer relations skills, with proven ability to devise and manage campaigns.
  • Experience supporting a busy media relations team, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with teams such as global affairs, legal, marketing and product.

Additional Information

  • Contract period: 12 months. Subject to mutual satisfaction and internal headcount needs, we will look to extend the role to support our growing team.
  • The role is based in London and follows a hybrid work model of three days in the office per week.
  • Must be willing to travel internationally when required.
