The Outreach and Educational Partnerships Team within the Marketing and External Relations Directorate is seeking to appoint an Outreach Officer. This role sits within a busy and dynamic team of widening participation specialists who develop and deliver university progression support to diverse audiences of prospective students across target schools, colleges and community groups. The position offers a supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development and engagement with the wider university community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering face‑to‑face and digital outreach activities and events to schools, colleges and community groups, including presentations, academic and transition skills workshops and subject‑specific projects.
  • Delivering and supporting other activities such as Open Days and Clearing Operations.
  • Traveling within the UK, working flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Co-ordinating the setup and delivery of outreach events across London, Kent and the Southeast.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Strong knowledge of the UK education system and experience working in a Higher Education setting.
  • Experience delivering presentations to a range of audiences and supporting young people in informed decision‑making about study and career options.
  • Good knowledge of UCAS, strong written and verbal communication skills, and high organisational ability.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
